This is a topic may not be discussed at anyone's office party, yet is still is a very important topic. Additionally, few parents encourage their children to pursue a career in Policy and Procedures. In spite of that, I am convinced that when managed properly, these artifacts will positively affect a company by unleashing innovations and creativity. I am would be excited to hear about challenges you may have in this topic.
I have over 30 years of experience working in the area of process improvements. While a majority of this time has been in the aerospace industry, I have had the opportunity to work also in the oil and gas, publishing, banking, concrete & construction, and auto manufacturing industries. My undergrad degree is in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin and a MBA in Finance from Indiana University in Bloomington. (It goes without saying that my high school friends would like to challenge these credentials!)
For most of my career and roles, it has been challenging to explain my job responsibilities to my immediate family. From my role of Program Manager, Process Specialist, Analyst, and even Software Engineer, I have been engaged in improving the efficiency of business and their associated rules. My interest was driven by the desire to improve a business's assets by enhancing their internal processes.
